Purses for the 2013 season have doubled compared to 2011 due to the agreement. In June of 2012, Canterbury Park and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community entered into a cooperative purse enhancement and marketing agreement that will inject $75 million into the horsemen’s purse fund over a 10-year span.
